My Cataracts
Larry Dean Bowes, MD : RUH EYE CLINIC
2018 My eyes were almost useless at this point due to cataracts in both eyes. After playing the game for over 10 months going to and from the Eye clinic at RUH just so they can bill the insurance services with fake test. Although nothing was being really done to help me, I returned once more and this time I got a new Doctor Abby Lynn Vercio, I explained the amount of times I’ve been here and she said that’s not right and scheduled my eye surgery. Ten days after my first eye operation later she did the other one.
Two days after I had appointment with her, but I was advised that Doctor Abby Lynn Vercio no longer works there. Was she supposed to milk out the insurance for as long as possible? At least I can see again, Thank you Doctor Abby Lynn Vercio, MD.
This how scam works is that Larry Dean Bowes, MD charges a certain amount for a Cataract operation. And the state of California will only pay a fixed amount. so he keeps having his patients coming back to do fake test so that he can bill the State for office visits until he reaches his set price, and only then he will do the surgery.
Fake Test: Blood pressure only or read the chart on the wall without covering any eyes, or just spend a hour in the waiting room until your next appointment date is ready.
End Cataracts
My Stroke
July 15 2020 10:30 pm: I got up to use the restroom but was filling strange almost like I had a bad flu or I was drunk, I staggered to the rest room and forgot how to flush the toilet my right arm would not move, I staggered to the walker and I set down, I could fill my entire right side shutting down, I pulled my walker to my brothers room with my left leg, I got just inside his door and tried to call him for help, but I could not talk, Our dogs saw something was wrong and awaken bob, he popped up and saw me and said shit. he said lets go I will drive you to the hospital, I could not stand or even move at that point it took all my strength to say 9 1 1, he asked you want me to call 911? i shook my head yes and he called them. Within 5 min they showed up and my brother keep telling them it was my kidney stones. Thank god they did not listen to my
brother and saw it was a full blown stroke.
They rushed me to Riverside University Hospital in Moreno Valley, CA: aka RUH. it was there they gave me a shot of the stroke clot busting drug. But it was not working, so they tried again, still no luck, they transferred me to Riverside Community Hospital AKA: RCH. I was there in a flash and they took me right in to the operating room and ran a snatch line to my inside leg to the brain and removed the clot. After 24 hrs I was feeling good, right side was drooping and my speech was in need of work but after 3 days I was back to all most full speed and ready to go home. I was released on July 19 and was told to have my doctor run some test and for me to see Cardiology for a tee test and Neurology within 3 days. All these people saved my life with the quick actions performed. I thank you all,
Paramedics,Ambulance crew, Doctors at RUH and RCH, and those Angels of Nurses.
And my dogs.
Aug 11 2020: I arrived but my doctor was not there, I was seen by another who asked why do I have Nitroglycerin do you have a heart problem? She did all the talking not once did she listen to anything I was saying. So i got up and left.
Side note My stay at the RCH I.C.U.: July 15 th 2020 to July 19th 2020 - Doing my time in the ICU a lot of doctors keep coming in and testing me for movement, memory, speech, and then I was moved to my own room on the 7th floor overlooking the cemetery and a Del Taco. A physical therapist came in and wanted me to show him that I can walk ok, so we walked around the hospital floor twice unassisted with no real difficulty. And he said that I can walk as much as I like at any time. And signed off that I was ok. Another therapist came in and said I can go home as soon as I can prove that I can take care of myself, I said ok what do you want me to do, he said I am going to watch you shower and get dressed, I said ok let’s do it, so I did and after he told the nurse that I can be released from TP, then the nurse said that I have one more test that needs done. The tee test at 8am. I said ok. The nursing staff was the best except 1. On July 19 2020 at 7pm a change of shift for the nurses, and I got stuck with some bone head male nurse, as soon as he walked in he said that he was going to set the bed alarm so that I could not leave, I advised him not to, I have permission to walk as much as I like at anytime. This unsettled him, and at 9pm he came in and said that I am being released now. I asked about the tee test and he said it’s a outpatient test. and then released me.
At 10 pm July 19 my brother picked me up in front of the Hospital and we left.
STATUS: They still do not know what caused my stroke without more test. As of Sep 8 2020 None of the required test have been done still waiting to get the
appointments..
Cardiology Tee test – This lets the doctor see pictures of the heart without the ribs or lungs getting in the way. A TEE is done when your doctor needs a closer look at your heart or does not get the information needed from a regular echo.
Neurology: Brain scan to check for any more blockages and check for damage. Time elapsed waiting: All because some bone head male nurse did not like me. i could only imagine what he reported to get me released. I wonder how many other patients are being placed in jeopardy under his care..
Last Update: November 12 2020, I was advised that they do not know what caused my stroke. They did find a small hole on my heart but they don’t see the need to fix it. And they found that I do have a Bicuspid aortic valve, it’s a two valve instead of a three valve, they said in time it will be a problem but not right now. Next hart check in a year.
I requested meds for my high blood pressure, and they gave me some. to this date May 3rd 2026 I have had no Strokes or TIA's from high blood pressure.
